deadgirlsd0ntcry asked iwantyourhair: I don’t know if this has already been asked but…I have red hair that always fades every two weeks. I used Manic Panic-Vampire Red for awhile and that always bled and didn’t seem to last long. Do you think that if i were to mix a Feria red with a semi-permanent red that that it would last longer? I’m looking for a vibrant red, not a brownish sort of red. Any suggestions??

HELP?

  1. bloddyfriday answered: i had red hair for a long time and i think if you really want that vibrant color theres no way around dying your hair almost every week :/
  2. jnastyakilla answered: Go to your local beauty supplies store and look under the permanent hair dyes and you will find bright reds.
  3. unluckyinlove666 answered: I only wash my hair once a week and in tepid water. Red is one of the hardest colours to maintain.
  4. rubyclique answered: Do you have the Schwartzkof Brilliance range where you live? Hypnotic red might be a good base. And maybe put the dye in your conditioner?
  5. ko-akuma answered: manic panic is poo. I really suggest using directions of special effects as they stay for ages. Sadly red is prone to fading like crazy :(
  6. strawberriesaredangerous answered: Directions Poppy red or Pillarbox red are fantastic and stick around for ages.
  7. mandathezombieslayer answered: My hair stylist and I always mix SE napalm orange with SE Atomic Pink and a red protein filler before using SE nuclear red. I held 6-8 weeks
  8. fawkenmagnum answered: They have red dye at sallys beauty supply, I’m not sure what it’s called but you can ask them, it lasted in my friends hair a month or so.
  9. biteteethbite answered: I used to use Special Effects hair dye, and it was the best. I used like 3 different kinds of blue and they all took weeks and weeks to fade.
  10. fluffypandur answered: L’Oréal Technique - Excellence HiColor. I just dyed my hair with their ‘Red Hot’ dye and I LOVE it!! :)
  11. shutupmaria answered: chi chromashine in ‘chi red’ its semi permanent but keeps your hair very red for 3-4 weeks

  14. hiheeda answered: loreals red seems to work pretty good for me.
  15. mental-bitchhh answered: you could just try putting the dye in when your showering, but only like once a week
  16. 22wolf answered: try the brand ADORE. it lasts longer than anything i’ve ever used
  17. lacrimosa8 answered: loreal hicolor red hilights!! they sell it at sallys and works great
  18. ohdaffodil answered: use Splat brand or Punky Color, leave it in for a few hours before washing it out and I promise it will last much longer.
  19. isetfire answered: don’t wash it. bleach your hair until its white, dye it, then use dry shampoos or baby powder to get your hair clean so you don’t over wash
  20. little-miss-materia answered: The Garnier Frutis reds for dark hair work really really well! I’d check it out~
  21. dannivish answered: Framesi has a pure pigment red, that is really awesome. As well as any of their other various shades of reds!
  22. its-me-just-better answered: Red always fades quickly. I’ve heard that if you put some of the dye in your shampoo it helps keep the color fresh.

Go the fuck to a professional, at a hair salon, lol.
  24. ohchelseadawn answered: Do not mix different brands. That is a big no-no. There are some streaking or highlight kits that may have red, a couple of those may work.
  25. cl0nearmy answered: I’ve done it, and my friend recently did the same thing. I reccommend Punky Colour or Special Effects though, because Manic Panic is bullshit
